Rights & Responsibilities Museum General Admission
For years, we have been talking about rights. Rights of free speech, life, religion, the right to defend one’s self. We talk of defending these rights, but as citizens do we recognize what our responsibilities are? Our founding fathers, who created the documents that outline our rights, stood with virtue and self-reflection. They debated one another long hours with civility and compromise to bring the nation together in common purpose. Do we, as a nation, still agree on core principles and values? How can we move forward if we don’t first have a base understanding and agreement of what our principles and values are? Join us for a Mercury Museum this summer, where we will delve into what makes America great – Our Constitution and Bill of Rights and the stories and events of how we have interpreted them for good and for bad.
